I usually concieve my paintings from places I can't name. They are usually woven together by some harmonic thread of which I can't put my finger upon. It's like voices in the background of life. I overhear something every once in a while and I follow its lead.

Usually when I complete a painting I like to think its the best painting I've ever done. Sometimes I'm right.

My paintings in the early years were social statements, this progressed to social/political. These were important at the time for me.

I explored abstract works from time to time and these were Okay but it was not to be pursued as far as I was concerned.

Now I just paint and don't bother to explain anything. Statements are not important to me to try and put forward. I try and find what it is the painting wants to state.

What an artist has to say about a work once he or she has completed it is not important. In fact it is no longer their work and it must stand alone.
